Bicho preguiça(Folivora) - Sloth - Reserva Natural Vale - Linhares(ES) - 28/08/2016

Poderia dizer que este post nada tem a ver com o próposito deste blog, que é a publicação de fotos de pássaros. Entretanto, o protagonista do post, um bicho preguiça absolutamente cativante, está, trágicamente ligado a um pássaro que é um de seus predadores : o gavião real. Não há do que reclamar, pois assim é na natureza, enquanto uns caçam, outros são caçados. Assistir a este vídeo, tendo ao fundo a Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor: IV. adagietto, de Gustav Mahler, me provocou profundo pesar pelo destino deste ser de enigmática beleza e, tenho certeza, não foi só a música que me fez refletir sobre isso. Haverá, com certeza, na contenda entre esses dois seres tão distintos um do outro, opiniões contra e a favor. Ainda bem que nada podemos fazer para interferir nas regras da natureza, então, que assim seja. Um dia antes desta filmagem, avistamos um gavião real com um macaco preso em sua garra fatal. O lugar ficava bem distante de onde fizemos este vídeo, o que sugere que, talvez, o bicho preguiça conheça o território de caça de seu predador e, por isso mesmo, se mantem a uma distância segura. Espero que em outras oportunidades possamos encontrar tanto o gavião real quanto o bicho preguiça. Clique!!! 

I could say that this post has nothing to do with the purpose of this blog, which is the publication of photos of birds. However, the protagonist of the post, an absolutely captivating sloth, is tragically linked to a bird that is one of its predators: the royal hawk. There is nothing to complain about, for it is so in nature, while some hunt, others are hunted. Watch this video, taking to the background Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor: IV. Adagietto, by Gustav Mahler, caused me deep regret for the fate of this being of enigmatic beauty and, I'm sure, it was not only the music that made me think about it. There will certainly be in the quarrel between these two beings so different from each other, opinions against and for. Thankfully we can do nothing to interfere with the rules of nature, so let it be so. The day before this filming, we spotted a real hawk with a monkey trapped in its fatal claw. The place was very far from where we made this video, which suggests that, perhaps, the lazy beast knows the hunting territory of his predator and therefore stays at a safe distance. I hope that in other opportunities we can find both the real hawk and the sloth. Click!!!
