 Sempre que vou a Nova Friburgo ver a minha mãe, almoço no restaurante e pousada Zero Grau, localizado no bairro cascatinha. Já era intensão pernoitar na pousada na primeira oportunidade em que encontrasse vago um determinado quarto que em uma posição privilegiada, se debruça sobre o riacho que passa ao fundo da pousada. Surpreendi esses pássaros que vinham se alimentar na amoreira que cresceu à margem do riacho. Clique!!!

Whenever I go to Nova Friburgo to see my mother, I lunch at the Zero Grau restaurant and inn, located in the Cascatinha neighborhood. It was already intense to spend the night in the inn at the first opportunity in which he found a vacant room that in a privileged position, leans over the creek that passes at the bottom of the inn. I surprised these birds that came to feed on the mulberry tree that grew at the edge of the creek. Click!!!

O lugar?  Aquele aqui já descrito, a meio caminho entre Cachoeiras de Macacú e Nova Friburgo. Interessante o fato de nunca ter encontrado este pássaro na estrada que leva até macaé de cima. Talvez seja a altitude. Amanhã vou subir a serra novamente e, desta vez, levarei o GPS para marcar a posição exata deste ponto para orientação àqueles que quiserem visitar o lugar(lembrando que agora há a placa determinando a proibição de entrada). A combinação de cores deste pássaro é absolutamente maravilhosa. Clique!!!

The place? That one already described, halfway between Waterfalls of Macacú and Nova Friburgo. Interesting to never have found this bird on the road that leads up to Macaé from above. Maybe it's the altitude. Tomorrow I will climb the mountain again and this time I will take the GPS to mark the exact position of this point for guidance to those who want to visit the place (remembering that now there is the plate determining the entry ban). The color combination of this bird is absolutely wonderful. Click!!!

Nos verdes anos de minha juventude, entre 14 e 16 anos, me aventurei pelas matas que circundavam a propriedade de um amigo da família, localizada em Teodoro de Oliveira. Foi naquela oportunidade que ouvi o canto deste pássaro, o qual só vim a identificar depois de passados mais de quarenta anos. Nada sabia a respeito do uirapurú, quer de seu local de ocorrência, quer de sua vocalização. O fato é que aquele trinado ouvido a quase cinquenta anos, me soou absolutamente enigmático, que imaginei vir do lendário uirapurú. Ignorância de adolescente que não tinha celular, tablet, lap top e afins, restando-lhe embrenhar-se nas matas, acampar, disputar corridas de carrinho de rolemã. Livros havia, e muitos, mas não era um aficcionado pela leitura, o que foi um erro, reconheço. Os cantos dos dois pássaros são absolutamente distintos, como podem ver Aqui   e Aqui .

Bom, estas são as melhores fotos que fiz deste pássaro que, como sugere o nome, não para de pular. Clique!!!!

In the green years of my youth, between the ages of 14 and 16, I ventured into the woods that surrounded the property of a family friend, located in Teodoro de Oliveira. It was at that opportunity that I heard the song of this bird, which I only came to identify after more than forty years. He knew nothing about uirapurú, either from its place of occurrence or from its vocalization. The fact is that that trilogy heard almost fifty years, sounded absolutely puzzling, that I imagined to come from the legendary uirapurú. Ignorance of a teenager who had no cell phone, tablet, lap top, and the like, left to go into the woods, camp, and play roller-ball races. There were books, and many, but I was not a fan of reading, which was a mistake, I admit. The songs of the two birds are absolutely distinct, as you can see here and here . Well, these are the best photos I have made of this bird that, as the name suggests, does not stop. Click!!!!

O protagonista em foco é figura habitual em quase todas as florestas por onde passo. A primeira vez que ouvi o seu canto foi em uma trilha dos três picos próxima à localidade de Teodoro de Oliveira e, confesso, sua vocalização me confundiu, levando-me a crer que se tratava de outra espécie, o coleiro. The protagonist in focus is the usual figure in almost every forest I go through. The first time I heard his song was on a trail of three peaks near the town of Teodoro de Oliveira and, I confess, his vocalization confused me, leading me to believe that it was another species, the Double-collared Seedeaater. Minhas incursões à mata que bordeja a estrada que leva a macaé de cima têm ocorrido esporadicamente e, no geral, têm tido curta duração. Se não ocorrer pela manhã, quando me dirijo a Nova Friburgo, me resta o final do dia, quando retorno ao Rio de Janeiro. O lugar, como já relatei aqui, é pra lá de interessante e pode reservar um sem número de surpresas. Este aí, embora muito comum, não teho lembrança de o ter fotografado antes. Clique!!!

My forays into the woods bordering the road that leads to the macaé from above have occurred sporadically and have generally had a short duration. If it does not happen in the morning, when I go to Nova Friburgo, I have the end of the day when I return to Rio de Janeiro. A natureza está sempre a nos brindar com suas jóias. Encontrei esta maravilha na região próxima ao acesso que leva à localidade de macaé de cima(um paraíso a ser visitado). Suas cores vivas e contrastantes funcionam como um imã a atrair nossos olhos. Clique!!!
