Era o  dia  11 de outubro e o nosso guia havia montado uma espécie de esconderijo no interior da mata para que pudéssemos surpreender o arisco tururim. Na caminhada para tal esconderijo, eis que aparece este pequeno e simpático pica-pau.

It was the 11th of October and our guide had built a kind of hiding inside the forest so we could surprise the aloof tururim. On the walk to this cache, behold, this small and friendly woodpecker appears.

Havia três destes pousados em um mesmo galho, a poucos metros da estrada que corta a reserva da vale. Uma beleza que até aquele momento eu não tinha avistado.  O cricrió, com sua voz inconfundível, emprestava ao local uma atmosfera amazônica.

There were three of them perched on the same branch, a few meters from the road through the reserve of the valley. A beauty that until that moment I had not seen. The cricrió, with his unmistakable voice, lent the place an Amazonian atmosphere.

Esta foi minha primeira incursão em busca de pássaros. Saímos do Rio  de Janeiro,  passando por Linhares, no Espirito Santo e a partir daí seguimos direto para Itacaré,  onde passamos três dias. Um pouco mais ao sul, Porto Seguro, para só então retornar ao Rio. Muito pouco sabia, quer sobre pássaros, quer sobre fotografia e, confesso, sei muito pouco ainda.

This was my first foray in search of birds. We left Rio de Janeiro, through Linhares, Espirito Santo and from there we went straight to Itacare, where we spent three days. A little further south, Porto Seguro and only then return to Rio. Knew very little either about birds, both about photography and, I confess, I know very little yet.

Pitiguari(Cyclarhis guianensis), Canário da Terra Verdadeiro(Sicalis flaveola) e outros - Nova Friburgo(R) - 25/09/2014

Na quinta-feira passada  levei uma amiga e o marido, que residem em Amsterdam, até Nova Friburgo, região serrada no Rio de Janeiro. Ela  tem, conjuntamente com o irmão, 50 mil metros quadrados de área bem arborizada. Se não  tivesse levado minha câmera, teria muito me arrependido. Ouvi muito canto e tive a oportunidade fotografar alguns desses cantores.

Last Thursday I took a friend and her husband, residing in Amsterdam, to Nova Friburgo, lumber region in Rio de Janeiro. She has, together with his brother, 50 acres of wooded area well. If I had not brought my camera, I would be very sorry. I heard a lot of singing and had the opportunity to photograph some of these singers.
