O primeiro avistamento que tive deste pássaro foi em julho de 2015, na densa mata da Reserva Natural Vale. Naquela oportunidade, a mata estava silenciosa e eu havia adentrado pela estrada flamengo cerca de um ou dois quilometros, quando algo me fez dar meia volta e retornar. Como sempre faço, pus a pickup em primeira marcha e deixei que o giro do motor nos levasse lentamente. Estava atento, mas foi minha visão periférica que captou aquele vulto que me pareceu pousar bem próximo à margem da trilha. Pisei no freio e, de fato, lá estava, calma e magnificamente pousado. Desta segunda vez, depois de fotografar a águia, eu e meu amigo João Sergio voltamos ao lugar onde havíamos deixado a pickup e nos pusemos descida abaixo em primeira marcha, parando a cada 20/30 metros. João avistou o pássaro na brenha da mata e me disse que parecia ser o barbudo rajado. Pusemos o playback e isso foi o bastante para que se aproximasse, ficando calmamente ao nosso redor. The first sighting of this bird I had was in July 2015, in the dense forest of the Valley Nature Reserve. At that time, the forest was quiet and I had entered the Flemish road about one or two kilometers, when something made me turn around and return. As I always do, put the truck in first gear and let the engine turning slowly take us. I was attentive, but it was my peripheral vision caught one figure that seemed to land right next to the edge of the track. I stepped on the brake and, in fact, was there, quiet and beautifully poised. This second time, after shooting the eagle, I and my friend John Sergio returned to the place where we had left the truck and put the descent down into first gear, stopping every 20/30 meters. John spotted the bird in the thicket of the forest and told me it looked like the Crescent-chested Puffbird. We put the playback and it was enough for approaching, getting quietly around us. Enquanto eu e meu amigo João Sergio esperávamos o vôo da Águia Chilena, avistamos um pequeno bando da família Psitacidae vindo em direção ao local onde estávamos. Pousaram a cerca de uns quarenta ou cinquenta metros de nós. Me aproximei o máximo que consegui e pude fazer algumas fotos e um pequeno vídeo, o qual ficou algo tremido pela falta do tripé. Lamentei profundamente este fato. A beleza de suas cores causa impacto imediato. Entretanto, foi o comportamento de um casal que pousara em um galho de embaúba que mais me sensibilizou. Poderia desenrolar um pergaminho desgastado pelo tempo e citar dezenas de palavras que traduzissem aquela cena, mas vou me contentar com apenas quatro. São elas: ternura, carinho, afeto e cuidado. Palavras que traduzem a nobreza de gestos, que muito pouco tenho observado entre nós, humanos. Clique!!!

While I and my friend João Sergio expected flight of the Black-chested Buzzard-Eagle, we spotted a small band of Psitacidae family coming towards the place where we were. They landed about forty or fifty meters from us. I approached the maximum I could and I could make some pictures and a short video, which was something shaken by the lack of a tripod. deeply regretted this fact. The beauty of their colors cause immediate impact. However, it was the behavior of a couple who had alighted on a branch embaúba that most touched me. Could unroll a parchment timeworn and cite dozens of words to translate that scene, but I'll settle for just four. A partir da pousada cantinho dos três pontões há uma trilha em aclive que, após uma caminhada de cerca de hora e meia, leva às pedras que inspiraram o nome da pousada. De pronto, eu e meu amigo João Sergio concordamos com o Itamar, que acreditava ser melhor chegarmos de camionete até um ponto com elevação acima e, a partir daí, tomarmos a trilha em declive até ao local onde iríamos tentar fotografar a águia chilena. Fiz um vídeo contínuo desde o início de nossa caminhada, o qual, além de ser editado em boa parte com velocidade aumentada,  foi dividido em duas partes pois, do contrário, ficariam longos demais. A trilha foi percorrida em cerca de trinta minutos, levando-nos ao local antes que o relógio marcasse sete da manhã. O Itamar nos passou algumas informações acerca do comportamento geral da águia e depois retornou à pousada para pegar um grupo de estudantes que guiaria pela trilha principal. Por volta das nove ele estava novamente conosco mas, antes disso, a águia já dera o ar de sua graça e, embora tenha se mantido bem mais distante do que esperávamos, demo-nos por satisfeitos. Enquanto Itamar descia com o grupo de jovens à base da pedra principal, aguardávamos um possível sobrevoo por conta dos intrusos que adentravam o seu território, mas isto não aconteceu. Pretendo voltar ao local em outra oportunidade e com mais calma. A pousada traduz muitíssimo bem a essência daquilo que efetivamente importa: a simplicidade do bem viver. From the Cantinho dos três pontões inn there is a trail uphill that after about an hour and half of walking, takes the stones that inspired the name of the inn. While Itamar down with the youth group at the base of the main stone, waited for a possible overflight on account of intruders that far into their territory, but this did not happen. Chegar até a pousada Cantinho dos três pontões não foi tarefa facil. Ter retardado nossa partida de Laranja da Terra, aliado ao fato de desconhecermos a região, mostrou-se um complicador a mais. A pousada fica na zona rural de Afonso Claudio, cidade da região serrana do Espirito Santo. Para piorar a situação, não havia placa indicativa da pousada. Não restou outro recurso que não aquele que enseja o velho ditado "quem tem boca vai a Roma". O lugar é bastante deserto depois que escurece e demoramos bastante até encontrar a quem perguntar. Finalmente uma jovem local nos ensinou o caminho das pedras. Fica aqui a dica. Para quem vem de Afonso Claudio, pela ES-484, fique atento para a placa indicativa do KM 47. Pouco depois deste ponto há algo parecido com um trevo. Neste trevo, tome a estrada de terra à direita, em aclive e mantenha-se atento. O acesso à pousada fica do lado direito. Quando chegamos ventava bastante e o frio era perceptível. Tomamos banho e fomos jantar. Sobre a chapa em forma de U de um grande fogão à lenha, repousava o manjar dos deuses. Uma comida deliciosa, preparada pelas mãos de fada da esposa do Itamar, que vem a ser o proprietário do lugar. Dormimos o sono dos justos. Não posso dizer que acordamos com o cantar do galo, pois nem me lembrava de que essa ave canta em vários horários madrugada adentro. Entretanto, posso dizer que nos levantamos bem cedinho e aproveitei para fotografar essas pombas antes mesmo do café da manhã. Clique!!!

Finally a local youth taught us the ropes. Here is the tip. Coming from Afonso Claudio, the ES-484, stay tuned for the sign indicating the KM 47. Shortly after this point there is something like a shamrock. In this clover, take the dirt road to the right, uphill and keep an eye out. Access to the lodge is on the right. When we got quite windy and cold was noticeable. We showered and went to dinner. On the plate in a U shape of a large wood stove, lay the food of the gods. Delicious food, prepared by fairy hands of Itamar wife, who happens to be the owner of the place. We slept the sleep of the just. I can not say that we agree with the crowing of the cock, because not remember that this bird sings at various times into the early hours. However, I can say I got up very early and decided to shoot these doves before breakfast. Click!!!

Não sei porque, mas quando avistei este pássaro em Laranha da Terra, a primeira coisa que me veio à cabeça foi a canção dos Beatles "aqui, acolá e em toda parte". Estes foram os últimos registros do dia e, ao partir, pus aquela canção para tocar em meu Ipod. Clique!!!
