Surucuá Variado(Trogon surrucura) - Surucua Trogon - Prado(BA) - 11/03/2014

Encontrar os pássaros no seu habitat requer muita persistência, infinita paciência e,  claro, alguma sorte. Já percorri milhares e milhares de quilômetros em busca de determinado pássaro e ele simplesmente não apareceu. Entretanto, quando o oposto acontece,  nos sentimos altamente recompensados. Foi assim com esse Surucuá, que além de aparecer, permaneceu à nossa volta por longo tempo.
As coordenadas exatas só vou poder informar depois que voltar a este local, o que deve ocorrer até o final de 2014. Entretanto, aqui vai uma dica: Saindo da cidade de Prado, no extremo sul da Bahia, pegue a BA489 em direção a itamarajú. Vá até o ponto indicado pelo mouse, na  foto a seguir, cujas coordenadas são: 17.1613145s , 39.3939208w. Pegue a estrada de terra, à direita. Ultrapasse o primeiro trecho onde a mata ocorre nos dois lados da estrada, ultrapasse a fazenda à direita que vem a seguir e então, fique atendo ao entrar novamente em um trecho onde a mata ocorre dos dois lados. Ela começa em uma  curva à direita. Um pouco antes da próxima curva, que é à esquerda, há uma picada à esquerda, que é bem visível apenas para quem vem no sentido oposto. Entre com o carro até onde a trilha começa. Boa sorte!
