Dentre outros pássaros, este também seguia as formigas de correição, ficando atento aos desalojados, que ao tentarem uma fuga deseperada de suas perseguidoras primárias, acabavam inevitavelmente em seu afiado bico. Até o ouvido humano é capaz de ser sensibilizado pelo som que uma legião de formigas vorazes produz ao esquadrinhar o solo em busca de alimento.Desta forma, imagino que não deva ser difícil aos pássaros, usar da audição para guiá-los nesta busca.
