Garça real(Pilherodius pileatus) Capped Heron |
It was my first encounter with this species. The distance was too much for my lens and my attempt to approach failed. I and my friend John Sergio took a trail that goes by waterlogged and leads to a small islet covered with grass. The heron was right behind the island, near the waterlogged edge. I should have remembered Sebastião Salgado in the documentary "The salt of the earth" when he drags the snow to surprise a group of walruses in the Arctic. We were irritatingly reckless, and, of course, stupidly amateurs. A small flock of chickens water that swam nearby disbanded sending your maximum warning signs so we were seen, and the heron, of course, did the same. Next time I will not forget that nature photography requires patience, persistence and, above all, strategy. I owe worthy photos of this beautiful species. Click !!!
