Choquinha de Asa Ferrugem (Dysithamnus xanthopeterus) - Rufous-backed Antvireo - Nova Friburgo(RJ) - 08/02/2014

Uma pequena cirurgia está me impedindo de sair em busca de novas imagens. Imagino que na próxima semana estarei liberado. O rumo que tomarei será o de Itatiaia, pois quero voltar ao Parque Nacional durante a primavera e ver os pássaros em suas vestes nupciais. Por ora, tenho que lançar mão de arquivos fotográficos antigos. Algumas, possivelmente já publicadas. Outras, não.

O local exato onde tirei estas fotos não me é possível fornecer, posto que neste dia,  estava sem GPS. Entretanto, com a última foto, tirada do google maps, será fácil a localização. Para aqueles que vão do Rio para Friburgo, a construção na parte de cima da foto, à esquerda, é a patrulha rodoviária estadual, que fica exatamente quando se chega ao topo da serra. O local é chamado de Teodoro de Oliveira. Na parte central da foto, ao alto, há uma estrada vicinal à direita. Pegue esta estrada e siga por cerca de 100mts, um pouco mais, um pouco menos. Uma outra estrada vai aparecer a sua esquerda. Siga por ela até encontrar uma bifurcação em "Y". Neste ponto, siga pela estrada da direita até um ponto em que ela parece terminar. Neste ponto há uma curva à esquerda e a estrada parece seguir, mas logo adiante ela se afunila e acaba virando uma trilha. Um pouco antes disso acontecer, há uma placa indicativa de que você está entrando no Parque Estadual dos Três Picos.  O melhor lugar para estacionar o carro é no pequeno largo onde há a curva à esquerda já mencionada. Neste lugar há uma casa em um pequeno platô e, à direita dela, o início de uma outra trilha, que também é muito boa. Espero que encontrem o lugar e possam desfrutar de sua luxuriante beleza.

A minor surgery is preventing me from going out in search of new images. I imagine that will be released next week. The direction we take will be to Itatiaia, because I want to go back to the National Park during spring and see the birds in their wedding clothes. For now, I have to resort to old photographic archives. Some, possibly already published. Others do not. 

The exact spot where I took these photos I am unable to provide, since this day, was without GPS. However, with the last photo, taken from Google Maps, the location will be easy. For those going from Rio to Freiburg, building on top of the photo, left, is the state highway patrol, which is exactly when it reaches the top of the mountain. The place is called Teodoro de Oliveira. In the central part of the photo, at the top, there is a side road to the right. Take this road and follow for about 100mts, some more, some less. Another road will appear to your left. Follow it until you find a fork in "Y". At this point, follow the road right up to a point where it seems to end. At this point there is a left turn and the road seems to follow, but just beyond it narrows and turns into a trail. A little before that happens, there is a sign indicating that you are entering the State Park of the Three Peaks. The best place to park your car is in the small square where there is a left turn already mentioned. In this place there is a house on a small plateau and to the right of it, the beginning of another track, which is also very good. I hope you find the place and can enjoy its lush beauty.
