Pica Pau Rei (Campephilus robustus) - Robust Woodpecker - PN Itatiaia(RJ) - 17/06/2015

Estávas às voltas com o surucuá quando ouvi fortíssimas batidas vindas de um ponto adiante. Já escutara aquele barulho e pus-me a caminhar na direção de onde vinha. Lá estavam. Era um casal de pica paus rei que freneticamente investiam contra o tronco seco de uma grande árvore. já avistara a espécie em duas outras oportunidades. As fotos que fiz na ocasião sequer chegaram perto de representar a real e impactante beleza desta ave. Tive mais sorte desta vez, mas ainda falta muito para chegar ao ponto ideal.
