Eu pensei que o desejo de visitar o Parque Nacional do Itatiaia durante a primavera estava fadado a ser postergado para 2015. Os preparativos para minha próxima incursão ao sul da Bahia, que terá início no próximo dia 18/11, aliado ao persistente mau tempo dos últimos dias, se afiguravam como obstáculos intransponíveis. Entretanto, quando nós desejamos ardentemente uma coisa, a tendência é que ela acabe se materializando.
Na tarde da segunda-feira verifiquei a previsão do tempo para o dia seguinte. Qual a minha surpresa ao constatar que uma janela favorável finalmente se abria. Peguei o telefone e liguei para o Santos, um amigo de longa data, que se divide entre Buzios e Niterói. Fiz o convite e, para meu gáudio, ele aceitou. Partimos, na manhã seguinte, bem cedinho, mas nem tanto assim. Para quem sai do Rio de Janeiro com destino ao Parque, ainda mais se o objetivo é retornar ao fim do dia, o ideal é que a viagem tenha início por volta das 4h da madrugada. Desta forma é possível evitar os engarrafamentos e, com isso, chegar ao portão do parque por volta das 6h, horário ideal para surpreender os pássaros no alvorecer do dia. Não partimos tão cedo assim mas, tudo bem, o destino parecia conspirar a nosso favor. A primeira parada foi no mirante do último adeus. Nunca tinha pensado naquele lugar como uma possibilidade concreta. Imaginava que o fato de ser parada quase que obrigatória para os turistas que circulam pelo parque, seria um ponto a ser evitado pelos pássaros. Ledo engano. Há vantagens em se fotografar dali. Uma delas é que podemos escolher estar abaixo, acima, ou no nível da copa das árvores. A parada durante a subida foi tão proveitosa que, na volta, resolvemos repetir. Esta beldade foi um dos presentes que nos esperava no mirante do último adeus, o que quer dizer, literalmente, que ao menos para mim, jamais será o mirante do último adeus.
I thought the desire to visit the Itatiaia National Park during the spring was bound to be postponed to 2015. The preparations for my next foray south of Bahia, which will begin on June 18/11, coupled with the persistent bad weather of recent days, appeared to be as insurmountable obstacles. However, when we ardently desire one thing, the trend is that it finally materializing.
On the afternoon of Monday checked the weather forecast for the next day. What is my surprise to find that a favorable window finally opened. I picked up the phone and called Santos, a longtime friend, which is divided between Buzios and Niteroi. I invited and, to my delight, he accepted. We left the next morning, very early, but not much. For those leaving Rio de Janeiro bound for the park, especially if the goal is to return to the end of the day, the ideal is that the trip should begin at about 4 am. This way you can avoid traffic jams and, thus, get to the gate of the park at around 6, ideal time to surprise the birds at the dawn of day. We are not starting so soon but, okay, fate seemed to conspire in our favor. The first stop was at the last goodbye gazebo. I had never thought that place as a real possibility. Imagine that the fact that it almost mandatory stop for tourists who roam the park, would be a point to avoid the birds. The concept is wrong. There are advantages to shoot there. One is that we can choose to be below, above, or at the level of the treetops. The stop during the ascent was so profitable that, in turn, decided to repeat. This beauty was one of the gifts that awaited us in the last goodbye gazebo, which means, literally, that at least for me, will never be the viewpoint of the last goodbye.
